The original Cinema Craft® Version 1 (2005-2011) Blu-ray encoders have been discontinued and are no longer supported. With the release of the new Cinema Craft Version 2 (2013) and Version 3(2014) encoders, authors may now upgrade their Version 1 encoder to either Version 2 or Version 3 at a discounted price.
Version 2 introduces Multi-Format Native Ingest, to fit smoothly into the most demanding studio workflows. There are also significant improvements in encoding performance, integrating the enhanced features of SandyBridge and IvyBridge processors. The limitations of version 1.x required extra time for format conversion and greater storage.
Version 3 (MX) includes the same Multi-Format Native Ingest feature and performance improvements, but with the addition of Multi-Instance. Authors may simultaneously edit, QC and encode different jobs without any wait time. For authors who process a high volume of jobs, look for the Cinema Craft Version 3 (MX) encoders.
Why use version 1.x when you can update to the newest version? For registered licensees of version 1.x, updating the newest version is easy:
- Update your hardware to the minimum system requirements or purchase a new machine. The new Cinema Craft encoders are available as a simple software installation and will run with a wide variety of hardware choices. Visible Light can help validate your hardware or offer a complete solution designed to your specifications.
- Purchase the appropriate Cinema Craft Software Upgrade from Visible Light. Qualified studios are invited to evaluate the new software prior to purchase.
